Book: The Boy Next Door

BOOK REVIEW

Brandon Townsend never imagined he could be attracted to his best friend and neighbor. He is, and he tries his best to hide his reaction to Zach. What would happen if Zach knew how he felt about him? Would he be disgusted and push him away?

Zachary Sherman has to hide his feelings towards Brandon. He knows if his parents even suspected how he felt, there would be hell to pay. But he cannot help himself. There is no other person in the world he wants more than Brandon.

Zach and Brandon were born a month apart, met when they were a year old, and have been inseparable ever since. On a dare, Zach asks Brandon to go skinny dipping with him in his pool after their parents are in bed. Brandon agrees and that night is one that will stay with them forever. They secretly carry on their relationship without anyone finding out until a fateful vacation to Florida tears them apart. Each goes his separate way afterwards and finds different reactions from their parents. Now, upon a chance meeting, Brandon and Zach are faced with what happened ten years earlier. Will they at least be able to salvage their friendship? Or will the past be too much to keep them together?

Again G.A. Hauser has written a wonderful story. I immediately

fell in love with both Brandon and Zachary. Their story is one of discovery, love, and heartbreak. I could not stop reading until I knew what became of each of the boys and how they had lived their lives. G.A. Hauser also touches on the subject of the abuse some same sex couples face everyday. This is a very well-written, tastefully done story. I recommend this and gladly give it the rating it deserves.

8 Total Reviews of This Book This is the first story by G.A. Hauser that I've read; I've already got another of hers in my ebook queue and there will definitely be more to come. She rates right up there in my estimation, and enjoyment, of her stories of gay romance.
