Jack Maxwell and his younger brother Julius were right on the heels of dealing with the death of their dad, Wally, when strange things began to happen on their cattle ranch in New Mexico. After one of their cows was killed in a bizarre way, Julius contacted the FBI. While Jack wasn’t a believer in paranormal or alien conspiracy theories, he could not explain what had happened to one of his cattle, or why. FBI agent Nicolas Keaton was alerted by his supervisor of yet another cattle mutilation occurring on a ranch. It was Nickie’s specialty, tracking these occurrences around the country. He expected to find more ranchers having the same problem, since these incidents tended to happen in clusters. What Nickie couldn’t have predicted was meeting a man like Jack Maxwell. A macho rancher that was so deep inside the closet, he needed to be extracted by a SWAT team. And what Jack could never have anticipated was that his UFO believing kid brother’s phone call to the FBI had brought a man like Nickie Keaton into his life. The cattle mutilation made no sense. But when he came to love and aliens, there was no common sense to be found. And that made for an uncommon love story.
